Alla Prima Still Life in Oils with Jan Wier

Instructor: Jan Wier
We will be working alla prima style, wet on wet to create floral still life paintings. In past workshops we've typically worked on smaller sized canvases. This workshop, it's time to go BIGGER! Bring larger canvas or boards (sizes to follow), but no smaller than 12"x12". Bring some big brushes too! First thing we will do is create our own simple floral arrangements. I will bring some flowers, but if you have something beautiful growing that you'd like to bring, then bring it! Students must bring their own supplies.
Materials List

Always hungry for color, pattern, light, and harmony in her painting, Jan seeks to reflect the grace notes of welcome that people desire in their homes and lives – that well placed cherished vase, fresh flowers, or perhaps even a happy cupcake! Her paintings are done in oil on canvas or board with the luscious use of creamy oil paint. Her style is loose and impressionistic with nothing too perfect; life is more interesting that way. Jan’s goal is to have her artwork bring a heartbeat of joy, color, and light to life.
