Sunday, July 24, 10:00 – 3:00pm
Location: Colorest Art Supplies
160 Newman Springs Rd East
Red Bank, NJ 07701
One thing we know for sure is that the ocean is constantly moving and changing. In this workshop we will work from photographs and learn techniques of simplification using basic shapes to capture the movement of breaking waves. You’ll learn about the different qualities of the water, transparency and opaqueness, as it relates to the structure of waves. The light source is always a constant factor when painting the ocean and will be discussed. Exploration of when to use hard verses soft pastels will be covered.
Each student will complete one to two pieces. Demonstrations and class critique will round out this informative workshop.
Students must bring their own supplies. A supply list is available.
